This Valentine’s Day evening round-up provides insight into the latest DOT and associated agency funding sources and grant programs. Further information on eligibility for each program can be found at the accompanying link.

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has roughly $662 million in available funding for its Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) Grant Program. The PIDP supports the modernization of America’s ports, with funding awarded competitively based on safety, efficiency, or reliability of freight movement into, out of, around, or within a port. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has opened a number of grant program opportunities, including the Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Program (CMVOST). The program’s goal is to train individuals in the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles. Applications are due at 11:59 PM ET on 04-03-2023. For more information, follow this link.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has roughly $469 million in available funding for its Competitive Funding Opportunity; Buses and Bus Facilities Program. The goal of the program is to assist in the financing of buses and bus facilities capital projects, including replacing, rehabilitating, purchasing or leasing buses or related equipment, and rehabilitating, purchasing, constructing or leasing bus-related facilities. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has roughly $1,221 million in available funding for its Competitive Funding Opportunity; Low or No Emission Vehicle Program. The goal of the program is to assist in the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities.
