FTA Grants for Programs Serving Areas of Persistent Poverty

In This Article:

The Federal Transit Administration will be hosting three webinars in the first half of February, providing potential funding to Areas of Persistent Poverty (AoPP) and Historically Disadvantaged Communities (HDC). The AoPP Grant Program has roughly $20 million in available funding, awarding to projects assisting the aforementioned communities. Determining whether a proposed project can be done using the FTA’s mapping tool (linked here), the specific use of which will be covered in the webinar series.

For a proposed project to be eligible, it should include “planning, engineering, or development of technical or financing plans” for public transportation systems, as detailed in 49 U.S. Code Chapter 53. More information on the AoPP Program and its eligibility is available at this link

The first webinar will be held on Tuesday, February 7th from 1:00-3:30pm EST. Those interested can register in advance at this link

The second webinar will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 1:00-3:30pm EST. Those interested can register in advance at this link
