The University of Illinois Extension program has created a Disaster Planning Integration Toolkit. This resource enables rural communities to use an asset-based approach to developing their Community Development Resilience Plan by integrating disaster resilience, economic development and green infrastructure.
County-level reports are available for Illinois. However, indicators and a resource library may be helpful for local or regional planning in other places. This information could be used in transportation plans, hazard mitigation plans, or Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS).
Other resources available on transportation resilience and climate change, as well as on economic resilience.
