Webinar Series on Microtransit vs. Micromobility Starting Today!

In This Article:

The differences between Microtransit and Micromobility might not be obvious to an outsider. For transportation planners and practitioners, it’s an important difference to be aware of. The quick, simple guide is to understand the former in the category of on-demand mobility dispatch (like a rideshare application). The latter would describe a bikeshare-style arrangement. For an understanding that is less quick and simple, Rural Transportation is sharing details on a three-webinar series starting today, presenting a framework for the planning, implementation, and integration of a Microtransit system in the city of Dublin, Ohio, as operated by SHARE Mobility.

You can click here to register for today’s February 22nd, 2023 webinar, which will take place from 2-3:30pm EST.

In it, the Shared Use Mobility Center (SUMC) will do into detail about Microtransit, the steps required to bring it to your community, how it can integrate into established transit systems, and how it can benefit commuters (particularly by filling transportation gaps for older adults and people with disabilities).

The second and third webinars in the series will be on March 8th and 22nd, with more details to come. Organizations involved will include the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC), National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM), National Rural Transit Assistance Program (National RTAP), and SUMC.
