Value Capture and Capital Improvement Plans Webinar: June 7

In This Article:

Join the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on Wednesday June 7th, from 1-3 p.m. ET to learn Value Capture Capital Improvement Plans/Programs (CIPs): Using Value Capture to Fund Transportation Improvements – The Primer. Webinar registration is free, but space is limited.

During the webinar, attendees will learn about the capital improvement program or plan (CIP) tool that can be used for planning, fiscal management, and funding & financing purposes. The CIP is a vital part of the local government’s comprehensive plan. It facilitates coordination within and between jurisdictions, minimizing cascade failure risks and optimizing life-cycle cost management. Most States mandate that a CIP, approved by the governing body, be in place before value capture impact fees, assessments, and tax incremental finance revenue techniques can be imposed. This primer provides practitioners with an overview of the most important elements of a CIP and the capital improvement process, with an emphasis on the use of value capture techniques for the transportation component of the CIP.  Register for the event!

This event is part of a series of webinars on different Value Capture techniques. The following webinar will be on Special Assessment Districts on June 28.

FHWA will hold additional events throughout 2023. Click here (PDF) for more information.
