The US Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration provides many resources on integrating transportation and environment. Through Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL), transportation and environmental professionals and decision makers can consider impacts of transportation early in the planning process. This may make it possible to carry over information from transportation planning into environmental review.
