ClimRR provides future climate data to help plan for and adapt to our changing world. Using one of the world’s largest supercomputers at Argonne National Laboratory, ClimRR models over 60 climate variables to provide the most sophisticated, free dynamically downscaled projections for the United States. ClimRR is the product of public-private collaboration between Argonne National Laboratory, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office, and AT&T.
The goal of ClimRR is to give free access to high-quality climate data and to provide the tools and additional datasets to help users contextualize climate risks to their communities. ClimRR has a number of data layers directly within the portal on community characteristics and infrastructure; it also integrates well with FEMA’s Resilience Analysis and Planning Tool, or RAPT, providing easy access to significantly more community-level data as well as RAPT’s built-in analysis tools.
