NADO Research Foundation Associate Director Carrie Kissel attended the 2019 National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) Conference in Portland, OR, September 16 – 18. National RTAP is a technical assistance center funded by the Federal Transit Administration to provide information and resources for rural transit systems. The conference included information on coordination, transit administration, compliance, technology, and more, with presentations by transit agencies, regional development organizations, state and federal agency staff, and other capacity builders. Kissel provided an interactive plenary workshop on Rural Trends, Transportation, and Building Wealth, connecting socioeconomic trends with transportation’s role in supporting asset-based development.
