Transportation System Management and Operations Peer Exchange Proceedings Released

In This Article:

The National Operations Center of Excellence has released the proceedings of a peer exchange that occurred in May 2019.  The peer exchange focus was on Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) in local and regional agencies.  The event discussion included agencies’ work at the confluence of management and technology, differences among local and regional agencies, organizational structure, key partners, ideal vs. actual management and operations practices, among many other issues.  Although many of the presenters represented larger urban areas, there may be lessons learned that apply to smaller metro and rural local and regional agencies with responsibility for TSMO or planning for the deploymetn of intelligent transportation systems to support operations.
