Transportation practitioners should make note of an update to the National Center for Rural Road Safety’s 2018 Rural ITS Toolkit. The toolkit contains 42 pdf-format fact sheets organized into seven category topics: Crash Countermeasures, Emergency Services, Operations & Maintenance, Rural Transit & Mobility, Surface Transportation & Weather, Traffic Management, and Tourism & Traffic Information.

The toolkit also contains a primer, an abbreviated summary table of its contents, and a convenient acronym list. While no new resources have been added, the updated links and information will prove beneficial to both new and returning readers interested in expanding their understanding and implementation of intelligent transportation systems.
