The USDOT’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office has posted an update to its online ePrimer training module. The ePrimer is a resource explaining the integration of ITS into every stage of the transportation process, as well as a reference document for transportation professionals. A total of sixteen modules are available in the updated primer, which can be accessed at this link.

The three newly added modules are:

Module 1: Introduction to ITS and ITE ePrimer Overview. This module provides an overview of the history of ITS and its role in changing travel and commuter patterns.

Module 5: ITS to Support Travelers. This module offers current and emerging applications of ITS geared toward enhancing driver safety and overall experience.

Module 6: Freight and Commercial Vehicle ITS. This module explores applications of ITS beneficial to safety and performance of commercial and freight vehicles.
