The Notice of Funding Opportunity is now open for the Nationally Significant Multimodal Freight and Highways Projects (INFRA) grant program. The U.S. Department of Transportation is making $626.7 million available for a range of infrastructure projects across the country; with a priority for large-scale projects over $150 million.
Track 1, worth $426.7 million, will support surface transportation projects of national and regional significance. Applications for funding from Track 1 are due by July 1.
Track 2 – worth $200 million – will focus on expanding commercial motor vehicle parking for truck and bus drivers. Applications for Track 2 funding are due by July 15.
Other types of infrastructure projects covered by this federal funding opportunity include:
– Upgrading safety technology at railroad crossings.
– Repairing highways or bridges to reduce traffic congestion and freight bottlenecks.
– Strengthening U.S. marine highways to diversify the nation’s domestic supply chain transport network.
