The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) has released the data dashboard Daily Travel during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The dashboard provides information on topics such as: How many people are staying at home during the COVID-19 pandemic? How far are people traveling when they don’t stay home? Which states and counties have more people taking trips? Other COVID-19-specific transportation data, such as county transportation profiles, weekly transportation highlights across modes, and more are available here. BTS has Trips By Distance and Population Staying Home data publicly available here. Users can view that data, filter the view by State and/or County, and create visualizations from those customized views.
The University of Maryland’s Transportation Institute and Center for Advanced Transportation Technology have also released the COVID-19 Impact Analysis Platform. It includes data on both transportation and the economy.
The National Association of Counties has updated its County Explorer data visualization tool to include recent unemployment rate trends from May 2019 – June 2020.
