The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced a new initiative to award $350,000 in cash prizes innovative analytical visualization tools to better understand or guide decision making about safety.  Tools developed through the Solving for Safety Visualization Challenge should fall into two functional categories: Discover Insights Tools and Simulation Tools.  The tools should be focused on one or more specific areas, including vulnerable road users, conflict points, and high risk factors.  Stage 1 submissions are due by July 31, 2018.
