During the Transportation Research Board’s 2021 Rural and Intercity Bus Transportation Conference, Kendra McGeady shared information about a rural transit’s innovative after-hours expansion. McGeady serves as Transit Director of Pelivan Transit, a program of the Grand Gateway Economic Development Association.
Known as PICK Transportation, the service is a partnership among Pelivan Transit, JAMM (INCA) Transit, Cimarron Transit and Kl BOIS Area Transit System. Using funding from the Federal Transit Administration’s Integrated Mobility Innovation program, the rural transportation providers are working with Routematch by Uber to provide service.
The partners worked together to deploy a rider survey. A selection of the survey questions and preliminary results are available here (PDF). Learn more about the service here.
McGeady’s co-presenters, Daisy Wall, Routematch by Uber and Suzanne Kalmbacher, Cecil Transit Chief of Cecil County, Maryland, also shared information about using Routematch by Uber for on-demand transportation in Maryland and elsewhere.
