FHWA’s webinar on VPI tools for Planning and Environment Linkages highlights the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Santa Fe PEL Study and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) HW 47 and HW 65 PEL Study. Presentations will feature the use of VPI tools to assist with a PEL approach, gathering information in the planning process that can be used in NEPA; importance of making the connection between planning and environment functions/staff; and the importance of conducting PEL in a manner than can lead to a more streamlined project development process.

FHWA’s Proven Safety Countermeasures 2021 Update is the topic for a webinar scheduled for November 22 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm ET. The FHWA Office of Safety recently introduced nine NEW countermeasures to the Proven Safety Countermeasures initiative. These additions enhance the already diverse set of safety strategies for state, local, regional, and tribal transportation professionals working to improve roadway safety for all users.
