FY 2021 American Rescue Plan (ARP) Additional Assistance

FTA Section 5307 and Section 5311 recipients and subrecipients may apply for American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act Additional Assistance funding through a discretionary process. Eligible expenses are operating costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, and sanitization on transit systems, and debt service payments incurred to maintain operations and avoid layoffs and furloughs as a result of COVID-19. The proposal deadline is November 8, 2021.

FY 2021 Buses and Bus Facilities Program

The Buses and Bus Facilities Program finances capital projects, including replacing, rehabilitating, purchasing or leasing buses or related equipment, and rehabilitating, purchasing, constructing or leasing bus-related facilities. Eligible recipients include fixed-route bus operators and states, tribal, or local governmental authorities that operate fixed route bus service. Except for projects proposed by Indian tribes, all proposals for projects in rural (non-urbanized) areas must be submitted by a state, either individually or as a part of a statewide application. An informational webinar is scheduled for October 13 at 2pm ET. Proposal deadline is November 19, 2021.
