The 2008 report Arrowhead Region: A Portfolio of Transportation Assets(PDF) showcases the role of the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission in supporting the Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council (the MPO for the metro area), in partnership with the Northwest Regional Planning Commission in Wisconsin, and the Northeast Minnesota Area Transportation Partnership, the rural-based transportation planning body for an eight-county region. It also features an interview with Congressman James L. Oberstar (D-MN), Chairman of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. This report was produced through the NADO Research Foundation’s Center for Transportation Advancement and Regional Development under a cooperative agreement with the Federal Highway Administration.
