Transportation TA and Funding Opportunities: Solar Energy; Public Transportation Coalitions

Two opportunities are available for different aspects of transportation are available.  The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is accepting applications technical assistance from teams of stakeholders, which can include regional planning commissions and local governments (including transportation agencies).  These teams should be working on some aspect of an innovative initiative to deploy solar energy, such as testing financing mechanisms or installing photovoltaics-enabling technology.  Applications are due August 1.  More information and a webinar about the program are available here.

The American Public Transportation Association Local Coalition Grant program offers awards of up to $10,000 for grassroots advocacy efforts to achieve state and local public transportation goals.  Applicants must have the support of a transit agency member of APTA, and eligible coalitions must be a member of the National Alliance of Public Transportation Advocates.  Applications are due August 31.  Learn more here.
