FTA Announces Funding Opportunity for Buses and Bus Facilities, Transit-Oriented Development Planning Pilot Program

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced a funding opportunity for capital projects to replace or rehabilitate buses, other vehicles, and related equipment, and to construct bus-related facilities.  This includes support for low or no emission vehicles.  Eligible recipients include direct recipients that operate fixed route bus service or that allocate funding to fixed route bus operators, as well as state, local governmental and Tribal entities.  A webinar for prospective applicants will occur on April 19, 1 – 2 p.m. ET.  Proposals must be submitted by May 13. The agency has also announced its Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO): Solicitation of Project Proposals for the Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development Planning.  This $20.49 million program supports comprehensive planning for fixed guideway and core capacity transit projects.  Eligible applicants include existing FTA grantees.  Proposals are due June 13.  For more information, view the NOFO here.
