FHWA to Offer “Regional Models of Cooperation” Webinar

Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Office of Planning, Environment, and Realty will offer the webinar “Regional Models of Cooperation – Regional Collaboration in Safety Planning” on Thursday, December 10, 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. ET. Register online here.

This webinar will address collaboration across jurisdictional boundaries in Safety Planning, and will feature speakers from the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC), and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC).  Presenters will discuss their regions’ successful cooperative efforts around safety planning in complex regions with multiple agencies or jurisdictions. The webinar will focus on the techniques used by different regions to establish, maintain, and enhance safety planning cooperation across jurisdictional boundaries and the benefits realized from cooperation at a regional scale. Speakers will touch on the role of MPOs in the development of State Highway Safety Plans and success of multi-disciplinary safety councils at the regional level.
