NADO Safety Rulemaking Webinar: HSIP and Performance Measurement

May 7, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration recently published two notices of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) related to highway safety in the Federal Register.  The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) intends to clarify regulations for the development, implementation, and evaluation of highway safety improvement programs administered in each state.  The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) established data elements states are required to collect for all public roads and made other changes to the content and schedules of state strategic highway safety plans.  The companion Safety Performance Measurement Notice of Proposed Rulemaking establishes performance measures related to the Highway Safety Improvement as required by MAP-21.

NADO will host a webinar on these two safety rulemakings from 2-3 p.m. ET on May 7.  Click here to register for the webinar.     Note that a separate webinar will be scheduled when a proposed planning rule is released.
