Pre-registration is now open for the NADO Research Foundation’s fourth virtual peer exchange on collaborative transportation and economic development planning.  This peer exchange, to be held on October 31 from 12:00-2:30 pm ET, will explore strategies for effectively aligning–and even combining–transportation and economic development plans.  Participants will hear from regional leaders who have merged their Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS) and Long Range Transportation Plans into one document or used common data analysis, goals and strategies, and project selection criteria in both plans.  Through expert presentations and interactive exercises, attendees will get practical tips and innovative ideas for managing complex planning processes; building relationships with partners across disciplines, and motivating them to take ownership of results; and developing coordinated plans that are user friendly, impactful, and meet all federal requirements.

Click here to register. Space is limited, as this will be a small and highly interactive virtual training. Participants will be asked to actively engage in discussions and activities, to attend the entire 2.5-hour session, and to complete a brief exercise before the event. The draft agenda is coming soon.

This training is the fourth installment of ‘On the Road to Prosperity: Fostering Collaborative Transportation and Economic Development Planning,’ a series of five virtual peer exchanges exploring how transportation and economic development planning practitioners can work together to maximize the economic impact of infrastructure investments, grow businesses and jobs, and strengthen the livability and vitality of communities and regions.  These peer exchanges are conducted with support from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
