FTA Announces Grant Funds for Access to Healthcare

This week, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced a new mobility grant program, the Rides to Wellness Demonstration and Innovative Coordinated Access and Mobility Grants.  View the Notice of Funding Opportunity here (PDF). This competitive program makes $5.3 million available for projects that test promising, replicable public transportation healthcare access solutions that support the following Rides to Wellness goals: increased access to care, improved health outcomes and reduced healthcare costs.  Eligible applicants include states, Tribes, and designated or direct recipients of Section 5307, 5310, or 5311 program funds.  A webinar for prospective applicants is scheduled for April 20, 3:30-4:30 p.m. ET, with registration available here.  Applications are due May 31.
