FHWA Publishes State Safety Performance Targets

In This Article:

The Federal Highway Administration has published a new web page sharing targets set by each state, in compliance with federal regulations on performance measurement.  States are required to set numeric targets for the number and rate of fatalities on their transportation system, number and rate of serious injuries, and number of non-motorized serious injuries and fatalities combined.  As new data become available, FHWA will determine whether states are meeting or making significant progress toward their targets, a determination expected to be made public by March 2020.  View targets for each state here.  Learn more about safety, proven safety countermeasures, and more resources here.
