The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will hold the free webinar Freight Deliveries and the Last 50 Feet of the Supply Chain on January 17, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. ET as part of its monthly Talking Freight webinar series.  This webinar will discuss some the research conducted by the University of Washington’s Urban Freight Lab and their coordination efforts with the City of Seattle and the U.S. Postal Service to improve the efficiency of freight deliveries, especially in higher congestion urban locations, but the discussion on freight deliveries and the impact of trends such as e-commerce may also offer lessons for rural and small town freight planning.

On January 25, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. ET, FHWA along with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will hold a webinar on Performance-based Planning and Programming Implementation.  FHWA and FTA speakers will provide an overview of the Performance Based Planning and Programming Requirements, along with implementation timelines. Peer Presenters will share how they are coordinating and collaborating with key partners such as state DOTs, MPOs, and transit operators on Performance Based Planning and Programming. The goal of the webinar is to share the latest information and best practices to ensure consistency nationwide when implementing these requirements.  Although RTPOs and rural localities do not have federally required performance management tasks, they may be involved with state DOT, transit agency, or neighboring MPO partners who must comply with federal regulations on performance management.

Registration is free, but pre-registration is required for both events.
