The Transportation Research Board (has released the report Advancing Automated and Connected Vehicles: Policy and Planning Strategies for State and Local Transportation Agencies, along with a summary briefing document intended for agencies and decision makers.  The report presents 18 planning and policy strategies that may help agencies with responsibility for transportation to plan for innovation in transportation technology, in spite of uncertainties about the technologies and pace of adoption.

TRB will host a webinar on the topic on November 8, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET.  Some attendees will need to pay a $95 fee to attend, depending on whether or not their organization is a TRB sponsor.  Staff of regional organizations that are not sponsors might be able to coordinate with state DOT staff to view this webinar or other web events together; the 50 state DOTs and the District of Columbia DOT are all TRB sponsors.
